元気ですか

This weekend is almost over. It went by really quick it feels like and a lot happened. 

It was my father's 50th birthday on Saturday but we celebrated it on Friday too when we arrived at his house.

My sister and I had make a carrot cake for him and my step-mom made him a brownie/ice cream mix on Saturday too! 

Every year we make him cards for Christmas, Father's Day and his birthday. I can't remember a time when we didn't do this for him. He was very pleased with the cake and loved the cards. 

On Friday night I had an exam to take. I already made a separate blog for this, well, it's short but to the point.    

At the current moment I am in limbo with my math scores. I had a difficult time falling asleep on Friday night but listened to a couple of guided meditations before I went to sleep.

One in particular I would like to do again. It was a guided meditation on positive thinking. In fact, I might write a separate blog on it because I really believe it is very effective. 

I really like this kind of thinking. I have heard people tell me this multiple times and even though I am normally very optimistic, I do often have doubts about my abilities. I am going to try this more often because I personally feel like so far it has made a difference for me. 

On Saturday I had to wake up early to go work with my dad and sister. My dad works for this very sweet woman and we help with things around the house that she can't do (gardening, painting, pool work, etc.). Her husband is in declining health so she takes care of him and doesn't have the time to do a lot of things. 

The weather was really bad so we didn't spend more than about five hours there. My job was to stain the gazebo (the red looks nice right?) and also I helped with removing tree branches with my dad. She is always very kind and she pays us very well.

She also had a cake for my father's birthday and a card too. She is so considerate and her consideration has prompted my sister and I to write her Thank You letters.

After working, we all headed back home (the drive is about an hour or so) My sister and I planned to head to  the store to pick up the Thank You letters. My stepmom also needed some things but everyone was really exhausted. 

I felt energized so I took a shower and went by myself. I picked up some odds and ends for my dad as well as the Thank You cards. 

On my way back I had the urge to visit the house that I practically grew up in with my grandparents. The only time I can see it is when I am visiting my dad and driving alone. I remembered by memory where to go even though I haven't been in about 8 years. 

I actually ended up getting lost even though it was a few streets away from the store! When I finally made it it brought back a lot of memories. Everything in the house was overgrown and it was very dark outside by then.  

There honestly wasn't much to see but I parked for a moment and just thought about things a little. On the way back I got myself a coffee and had to explain to my dad how I got lost. It was kind of embarrassing
 

Today started off really nicely. I spoke with としくん this morning which was nice because I haven't heard anything from him in two days. I know he is dealing with his own problems so I am trying to let him figure it out but I still leave messages to him when he's online.

This morning he seemed to be doing really well. It made me very happy to hear that and hopefully we will get a chance to talk soon. 

I slept a lot of the day and then around 17.00 we headed back home. 

Tonight I need to study a lot. Tomorrow is my last exam I have to worry about until Fall semester. I really want to do my very best on it. 

I need to unpack my stuff and then begin studying some more. My stepmom surprised me with some new Mickey Mouse shirts today! They are really cute and I also brought back my Mickey bathroom stuff too. I will have to post it all on another blog sometime. It is all super cute!

This week will be great. 

Thursday: Noraebang with friends and my sister

Saturday: Work! (I actually got some part time work cleaning through a friend)

こんにちは

The day has gone by kind of quickly and there aren't too many updates to be honest.

This week (including next Monday) is the final week of my online classes! 

I am happy and worried at the same time. Today I had my Test 3...

I will work harder for the final!

This weekend will be really good though I think!

On Friday I will meet up with Pia at the mall and Saturday is my dad's birthday

This morning I also briefly chatted with としくん. Again, he apologized profusely but also explained that he got a really good job at the moment.

I can't argue with that. He just told me not to worry and that he has just been really tired lately but that he was working hard for Winter vacation. 

That is really sweet. Regardless of the amount of money he is making I told him to eat properly and rest well. That is more important to me. 

Of course I want to talk with him and worry about him, but he is working really hard.

With that being said, it gives me a lot of time to focus my energy on my own stuff.

I filled out a couple job applications today and tomorrow I will resume my exercises too.

My goal for this summer is to work on my appearance a little and hopefully get a job though I think that will be difficult since I will only be here for two more months.

Tonight I am going to study a little and also watch some more of "Miss Ripley." 

This morning I woke up and felt really conflicted. Tomorrow is Father's Day but I had a lot of studying to do. I had been thinking about since yesterday and I really didn't know what to do.

My exams are all next week (one Monday morning) and I knew I would need all day today and tomorrow to study for them. I had promised my dad I would come visit this weekend and I have never missed Father's Day before.

It was really difficult calling him to explain to him. I knew  he was really disappointed to hear it but I had no choice.

Next weekend is his birthday so I will just have to make it up to him then.

I spent the whole morning working on my online  classes. I am about halfway through the material I need to cover for Monday's exam. I will continue tonight and I plan to finish it so I can review tomorrow.

This morning I also spoke with としくん too. We haven't been able to fully talk for about three days now and before that it was only briefly. 

When we spoke he apologized a lot and explained he was really busy. He has two jobs at the moment, one which is a little more labor so of course I can understand his situation.

He just said, please endure with me now and I promise Winter vacation will be really nice.

That really made me feel better though. Subconsciously I think I was associating with things in the past. I don't compare this relationship and the last one, but I was afraid it was turning into an early similar situation.

He really relieved my mind and tomorrow morning around 10:00am we will talk a little.

This afternoon I took a break from studying and ran some errands for my mom. I also helped her in the garden a little bit too because the work is a lot easier for me.

Tonight I will continue studying and maybe watch a little of a drama.

This is my new tattoo. It is in the same spot as my other and now I think I am finished with tattoos. I am really pleased with it.

Yesterday went by quickly! I ran some errands for my mom and also went to Starbucks.

This morning I made some teriyaki ginger noodles and vegetables.

I want my mom to come home this afternoon and have something to eat.

ちょっと早くおきた. としくんと話したい...でもめっちゃ忙しい！

昨日も話さない...

ちょっとさびしいになる

However, I am trying to be understanding. If not, I will just feel a little selfish.

今日たくさん雨が降っています

I woke up this morning and the power went out!

It was around 5.00am. Thankfully, after about an hour the power went back on.

The weather is really bad right now though but we really need the rain because it has been so dry

Dinner was really yummy. I liked the atmosphere there too and they also play Korean music. During dinner my sister kept saying I should get another tattoo. I had a third design picked out for awhile but was weary of spending the money and also not sure.

Her friend also came with us (who has an appointment with the same guy on Friday). I had been thinking about it all day and then again over dinner. She called him and made an appointment for after dinner.

All of my tattoos have meaning for me and weren't random. I didn't think about them on a whim but really put thought into it.

We went to the parlor and because he had done my other two tattoos, I got a major discount. That also relieved me a little about spending the money.

So now on my other side, on my ribcage I have "一期一会"

One chance in a lifetime (One time, one meeting) Each moment will only
happen once and never again, so it should be cherished as such.


What do you think? I really like it. I really like the meaning and hold it to be true. In the end I am really pleased that I got it.
