Today was a really nice day. It seemed to go by very slowly at first though.

I spoke with my grandmother a lot, about all kinds of things. War, politics, racism, etc..we always seem to have these really deep discussions about topics like this when she is here! (笑)



I also tried my new noodles, which had a very heavy キムチ flavor. They were delicious!

As the day went by, my mind was pretty much on the award's ceremony that would take place at 18.30 and was rumored to last until 22.30! I had to dress up nice and wear my graduating cap and gown. I kind of dreaded it a little at first, because of how long the ceremony was supposed to be.

I also got some more news about my dorm at university, I found out the name of my two roommates (I thought I only had one!?) and was given the full amount for residency for the summer B term. I have a lot of things to straighten out because of it tomorrow, but regardless of the somewhat sudden notice, I am happy still.

I eventually had to get ready for the ceremony. My grandmother was getting a little emotional and I kept smacking myself with the tassel on my cap!

The ceremony was very long but I do have a couple thoughts about it.

☆ My father surprised me and came to see me, which made me very happy. My sister also attended too, so I was happy for the support.

★ Some of my friends received a lot of financial aid which was wonderful to see. I am so happy for that and clapped really hard.

☆ We went to Denny's afterwards for dinner and it was very yummy. I got a chance to speak with my dad and sister a little more.




★ I didn't receive any financial aid (except a school sponsored scholarship, Medallion of Excellency) but I did receive three others that were very important to me.

They're for Outstanding Foreign Language Student, Class of 2010 & Outstanding Achievement in Social Studies Class of 2010

As well as a certificate for a GPA of 3.9 or better.

None of these will help pay for university, but they meant much more to me because these subjects were my passion. I was greeted by my teacher afterwards as well and she met my dad. She was very sweet and I am proud to have won this distinction.

Hmm...tomorrow, I have a couple of things I have to do. Thinking about it now, it makes me feel very tired!

I have to drive my mom into work this morning around 4.00am and my grandmother wants to go out to the store tomorrow around noon. I have some things with university I need to call about too.

I want to exercise a little since I took a break today. Saturday is graduation, which will be wonderful to be around the family.

I'm very thankful for everything though.
